Min Pins are like potato chips.... but they can sure wear you out!
THE LIFE OF A BREEDER A CUTE POEM... Why own a Min Pin? There's a danger you know, You can't own just one, for the craving will grow. There's no doubt they're addictive, wherein lies the danger. While living with lots, you'll grow poorer and stranger. One dog is no trouble, and two are so funny. The third one is easy, the fourth one's a honey. The fifth one delightful, the sixth one's a breeze, You find you can live with a houseful with ease. So how 'bout another? Would you really dare? They're really quite easy but oh, Lord the hair! With dogs on the sofa and dogs on the bed, And runs in the yard, it's no bother you've said. They're really no trouble, their manners are great. What's just one more dog and just one more crate? The sofa is hairy, the windows are crusty, The floor is all footprints, the furniture dusty. The housekeeping suffers, but what do you care? Who minds a few noseprints and a little more hair? So let's keep a puppy, you can always find room, And a little more time for the dust cloth and broom There's hardly a limit to the dogs you can add The thought of a cutback sure makes you sad. Each one is so special, so useful, so funny. The vet, the food bill grows larger, you owe money. Your folks never visit, few friends come to stay, Except other dog folks, who all live the same way. Your lawn has now died, and your shrubs are dead too, But your weekends are busy, you're off with your crew. There's dog food and vitamins, training and shots. Is it worth it, you wonder? Are you caught in a trap? Then that favorite dog comes and climbs in your lap. His look says you're special and you know that you will Keep all of the critters in spite of the bill. Some getting old, and some just to breed. And some just for loving, they all fill a need. But winter's a hassle, the dogs hate it too. But they must have their walks though they're numb and you're blue. Late evening is awful, you scream and you shout At the dogs on the sofa who refuse to go out. The dogs and the dog shows, the travel, the thrills, The work and the worry, the pressure, the bills. The whole thing seems worth it, the dogs are your life. They're charming and funny and offset the strife. Your life-style has changed. Things won't be the same. Yes, those dogs are addictive and so is the dog game!! -Author unknown
WHAT ARE HAPPY CAMPERS YOU ASK?
The Happy Camper pages represent just some of the wonderful homes my kids have been fortunate enough to go. I will update these pages with their photos and ?stories? often. I thank all of the folks who have sent me pics of the babies and keep in touch over the years. There are so many of you. I also thank those that have been able to come personally to visit to get their baby as well as those who come by so I can see my babies ...it's so rewarding...and never a dull moment because I never know who's going to drop by.For eg the Bollman's lived back east. They got their first Min Pin from me about 5 years ago, followed by a second one the next year. When an email arrived this summer saying they were going to be living in Las Vegas for awhile and had to come to Phoenix for a few days and wanted to stop by and visit me and bring Zoey & Messier I was just blown away. I just don't expect to ever meet some of my Happy Campers personally, especially from the east coast. We had a great visit, took lots of photos and I loved seeing my "Grandchildren". Thanks James & Kim.

MAMIE VAN DOREN HAS 3 PLUS A RESCUE!
STARLET,RAINBOW & SOPHIE' If you're a moviestar buff you'll know who Mamie Van Doren is. What you may not know is, at the age of "70 something" she still quite involved in the Hollywood scene. And by way of the genes that were passed to her, (and takes very good care of herself) she remains gorgeous and ageless! And the nicest part is that she is genuinely a sweet person. When she originally called me about a Min Pin and asked if I knew Mamie Van Doren, of course I said yes. My husband & I had seen her in Phoenix, AZ in the stage play WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER back in the 70's. I'm not exxagerating when I say that she looks as good now as she did then. She has since confided in me that it was during that production that she met and subsequently married Thomas (Dixon). He is a jewel! She personally maintains her own website (it's for adults) that is full of both current and past events of her life & lots of movie memorabilia. The photos I've posted are current. I am flattered that she has not only obtained one Min Pin from me, but three. Mamie loves her dogs!In the interim they also rescued a male, Tiger. They are the epitome of a "forever home" that every breeder wishes upon their babies.(Thank you Mamie & Thomas!) Her husband, Thomas is a great photographer and she has an area of her website dedicated to her "kids". We personally brought her Starlet, a petite little chocolate female. Mamie & Thomas reside in Newport Beach, CA. What delightful, down to earth folks! They invited us to spend the night, we met her son Perry, had a wonderful seafood dinner & walked on the beach. A memorable weekend, it was for Joe and I and Ginger (yes, I brought Ginger! Within a few months that potato chip thing kicked in and Mamie wanted another Min Pin......so off went Rainbow, a blue. In Jan '06 they got Sophie... Mamie and I have developed a friendship which I cherish. We keep in regular touch via email and telephone. She's so good about letting me know how the kids are doing and what she & Thomas are up to! The link for her website is at the bottom of the page. You must go "visit" her & her kids via the link below.
