NIZHONI'S FREDDI WITH AN I (instead of a Y)
My husband of 34 years, was diagnosed with a rare terminal cancer in June of '97. With children raised, grandchildren around, Min Pins filling our days....well, obviously we were enjoying life. He was a robust & healthy 66 year old man. Much too young to leave us. Cancer, sadly, has no sense of time and certainly no conscience. He was not,thank God, in alot pain, but as you can see, the cancer over the course of 1 year, took away the "robust", month by month. Fred loved dogs as much as I did. Together we have raised Dobes, Rotts and a couple of other breeds. In earlier years he professionally trained dogs in obedience, search and rescue and guard dog training. We enjoyed them together. He bought me my first Min Pin for Valentine's Day. (Thank you, dear!) Melody had a litter born on Fred's birthday, February 9,1998 about 8 mos after his diagnosis. It was a sign. There was no question that one of these 5 babies had to stay for him and ultimately me. We named her Freddi, with an i. Nizhoni's Freddi with an I....he held her alot. She brought quiet and solace to him on a daily basis. When she figured out how, by 5 wks, to scale the couch....she would climb up to be with him. She didn't do the silly, biting puppy thing with him. She seemed to sense that he was ill and just wanted to cuddle with him. When he was asleep she would curl up around his neck. It warmed my heart to watch them.
My dearest passed away 5 mos to the day of Freddi's birth. I just know this little girl helped his passing more peaceful. He took her unconditional love with him. Thank you God, for sending her to help comfort him in his last days....
Freddi presently lives across the street. She is the loving and constant companion of an 85 year old who was widowed last year.She and Freddi are so happy. Freddi is 11 years old now...
NIZHONI'S I'M PLAYING THE FIELD
Mamie & Thomas are sister & brother, born 11/29/06. I hadn't shown for several years. Not that there aren't several show quality dogs at Min Pin Heaven!
The results of the Lucy/Trucker litter inspired me. It was a beautiful litter of 5. With the help & encouragement of some respected show breeders I kept 2 pups. Mamie & Thomas. I named them in honor of my very dear friends Mamie VanDoren & her hubby Thomas Dixon.
Mamie wrote a book a few years ago entitled "Playing the Field", thus my Mamie's registered name.
Click on the enlarged photo to see a wonderful picture of them at 6 mos. They're quite the twins. MAMIE EARNED 2 POINTS IN NEW MEXICO ...I was so very proud of her.

Back to Mamie.... As sometimes happens, a dog may have all the qualities conformation wise to justify showing them to their championship. They must also have that show dog "attitude". Mamie decided she did not like the show ring.She loves traveling, just doesn't like the ring. They must enjoy it or it just doesn't work. So at least for now I am not showing her. She IS a show dog for me!!

Prancer also came to me as an adult from a breeder in Scottsdale who had a personal life change and couldn't keep her and 3 others. They have all settled in and now are part of my Min Pin "pack". Isn't she beautiful?
Prancer is just a wonderful Mom! I don't think I've ever had a bad Min Pin Mom!
GRACE
NIZHONI'S SAVING GRACE
Grace was born August 2, 2009. Here she is at 6.5 weeks. Her Mom is Stormy and Dad is Thomas......I anticipate she will bloom into a perfect little girl and one that will joint Charlie in the show ring...Time will tell. In the meantime what fun it is having a puppy to entertain us. She is a stinker........a cute stinker tho!
