Notice to all Klee Kai Owners
who are now Alaskan Klee Kai Owners
As of this time (July 15, 2002) we are in the
process of becoming a recognized Alaskan Klee Kai kennel club. Our dogs have now
been accepted and we are registering and showing them. In February 2003,
our club was represented for the first time at a show in our area by Carroll
Parkison with Waco's Piolak V. Sitka, Waco's Mikka V. Maiaipa, Waco's Pungattok
V. Illatuyok and Waco's Anerknerk V. Gitina and Cathy Petite and Scott Schreder
with Waco's Kapa'a V. Lakota.
Paul Gnuyen has volunteered to maintain our Kennel Club site, he is updating
as he gets new information. Thanks to Paul.
If you would like more information about shows and
registration, please feel free to visit www.ukcdogs.com.
Some of you may be saying, "I have an older or
spayed or neutered Alaskan Klee Kai".
What good is this to me? There is a veterans class and another class where these
dogs can be shown for ribbons only. It is called an unlicensed class. They will not earn points toward championships;
however, you will be able to show off your Klee Kai. They are now referred to
legally as Alaskan Klee Kai; however, old habits are hard to break so you'll
find many of us still refer to them as Klee Kai. It's a lot of fun and I
encourage everyone to try it at least once.
