Uploading/Publishing Your Website

Once you have completed the development and testing of your webpages & graphic files on your local computer system, your next step is to upload (aka publish) them to your website so that they may be visible on the internet.

Publishing your website is nothing more than uploading the files located on your local computer system to your website located on our remote server. This uploading process may be accomplished in a number of ways.

Many website development products contain their own publishing features. Some may be a bit tricky when it comes to setting them up to publish correctly. Others may not work at all as they make certain assumptions, which may not be correct, about the remote system they are publishing to. Our recommendation is to use either our ezMan File Manager or a standard FTP program such as Ws_ftp or Fetch for uploading your files.

Below we have compiled a number of the various methods available for you to consider.

Publishing Methods

Special Notes:

  • AutoPage-Plus users should use the upload features supplied within the AutoPage-Plus system itself.
  • MS FrontPage users may publish their website by using the FTP programs above, or they may choose to order the FrontPage Extensions add-on which provides easy publishing features.
  • ezMan File Manager may be used to upload files regardless of the development method used.
