LOUIE, LIAM and WINNIE

Am/Can/International Ch. Bastion's Louisville Slugger,Multi- BIS, Multi- BISS CGC
"LOUIE" showed a lot of promise from the beginning. He went Best of Winners at his first show at six months of age. He garnered Best Puppy at the Southwest Regional Specialty in 1999, and a five-point major the next day at the age of nine months. He finished his championship with ease by eleven months of age with limited showing, about one weekend a month. At just under fifteen months of age, he won his 12-15 month classes in both Futurity and the Sweepstakes at the 1999 ABA Nationals. We knew his future looked bright.

Louie finished his Canadian Championship in 24 hours, winning Best of Winners at both a regional specialty and supported entry. He finished his International Championship while taking Best In Show, two of three days. Louie won Best of Breed in 2002 at Westminster Kennel Club and won an Award of Merit there in 2001 and 2003. During his two years as a special in the United States, he won several Best in Specialty Shows, including one under distinguished British breeder/judge, Billy Brittle. Louie also won several All-Breed Best in Shows. He was in the Top Ten Working Dogs for 2002, a feat rarely accomplished by a bullmastiff. Louie retired for a year then went back to Canada where he is currently the number one Bullmastiff and he is showing regularly in Ontario. When Louie returns, he will be concentrating on the working arena, where we hope to finish his CD title and hopefully add an agility title or two, to his credentials. Although Louie has sired few litters, he has achieved ROM status with seven American champion offspring and one Canadian/American son, Slugger. Five of those champions came from one litter. Louie is co-owned by Bob and I, Dawn McCandless & her son, Royce Hamilton. We have just received word that Louie was not only the #1 bullmastiff in canada for 2004 but also achieved the status of #5 in the working group.

Am/Can Ch. Bastion's Music in the Glen BIS/BISS
On September 14, 2002, the Bastion legend continued when Liam, BIS Am/Can CH Bastions Music In The Glen, was born. Mom, A/C CH Waters She's A Bastion Babe, and Dad, Am/Can CH Bastion's Ruff Rider O'Waters, have pictures and information available on other pages. From the time Liam first entered the ring in conformation classes both he and we knew he was born to win. On his 6 month birthday, Liam won his first 4-point major at the prestigious Kentuckiana Cluster in Louisville, KY. The following weekend he won BOS in the Southwest Bullmastiff Club Sweepstakes in Ft. Worth, TX. Liam journeyed to Canada where he quickly became a Canadian Champion. The same day he won his Canadian Championship, Liam won Best Puppy In Show at age 7 months. After a 2 month rest at home in Nashville, Liam finished his American championship with a 5-point major in Waukesha, WI, at age 10 months. His first Best of Breed came the following day over several top -10 Bullmastiff specials. At 11 months old, Liam won his first Group placement. At 12 months of age, Liam won Best in Futurity and the 2nd Award of Merit at the 2003 ABA National Specialty in Portland, OR. After his successes at the ABA Nationals in September, Liam returned home for another months rest. In November 2003, Liam won Best In Sweepstakes at the Southeast Bullmastiff Club Regional Specialty in Knoxville, TN, and then headed to Toronto, Canada, where he won Best in Sweepstakes at the Canadian Bullmastiff Fanciers 2003 National Specialty. Later that same day in Canada, Liam won his first Group 1 placement. By the end of 2003, at 15 months of age, and after only 9 months in the show ring, Liam was the Number 8 ranked Bullmastiff in the USA. 2004 has been equally spectacular. By the beginning of Summer, 2004, Liam has become a multiple Breed and Group winning Bullmastiff and has consistently ranked as the Number 1 Bullmastiff since January 1. On June 5, 2004, Liam won his first AKC All-Breed Best In Show. Liam finished 2004 as the number one bullmastiff all systems. In 2005 he has continued his winning ways by adding a westminster win and a speciality win to his credit. In the ring Liam is focused with his exclusive handler, Mr. Bill Martin. However, they both take time to visit with their friends and admirers while waiting their turn to meet the judge. Possessing wonderful type, Liam is in the middle of the standard in height and has a stunning side gait. He displays powerful reach and drive and is clean and honest coming and going. In front of all this is Liams beautiful headpiece. Outside the ring, Liam is a happy, gentle, obedient and loving member of his family. Like his Great-Grandfather, Magnum, BIS-BISS Am/Can CH Bastions Celebration Time, GROM, and his Uncle Louie, Multi-BIS-Multi-BISS Am/Can/Intl CH Bastions Louisville Slugger, CGC,ROM, Liam is truly a magnificent ambassador for this wonderful breed. ...... Liam has made history in winning the American Bullmastiff Association National Speciality for three consectitive years. 2007, 2006 and 2005. We are so very proud.
