[ Making Backups ]

Backing Up Your Files:
Each time to click on the [ Make Webpage ] button AutoPage-Plus records the information you have supplied to a small database file and then incorporates that information into the appropriate HTML file. We recommend that after you have created or modified any of your webpage(s) using the AutoPage-Plus system, that you make backup copies of them on your local computer's harddrive. Remember, should disaster occur you can never have enough backups and maintaining backups is your responsibility! So keep a copy of your webpages & graphics on hand locally to be safe!

Below are step by step instructions on backing up your website data.

Steps for Making Backup Copies of HTML Files:
  • Using your browser, go to the webpage which you wish to make a backup of.
  • At the top of your browser's menu, click on File.
  • Select Save As.
  • Navigate to the directory on your local computer's harddrive where you wish to save the backup files.
  • Select Save.
    Your browser will then download a copy of the HTML file to your local computer's harddrive.

Your next step is to make a backup of each of the photos & images contain in your HTML file as follows:

Steps for Making Backup Copies of Photos & Images:

  • Using your browser, go to the webpage which contains the images & photos you wish to make a backup of.
  • Place your mouse arrow over the image.
  • Click your "Right" mouse button.
  • Select Save Image As.
  • Navigate to the directory on your local computer's harddrive where you wish to save the backup image.
  • Select Save.
    Your browser will then download a copy of the image/photo file to your local computer's harddrive.
