These three red boys were around four weeks old when this photo was taken. All have now gone to their new homes and are happy, spoilt, little boys!
Bosun sails the Ocean Waves 
Bosun was born March 23 1997 when we moved from Texas to New Hampshire. All the furniture was taken care of by the movers BUT we could not and did not want to trust our dogs being shpped by anyone but ourselves. Because the move happened to quickly we had Cina on board about to give birth to pups. This happened our second night on the road at the Holiday Inn in Tulsa, OK. Cina gave birth to seven healthy pups, of which Bosun was one. By the time we arrived in NH it was too late to have tails docked (the pups were past the 2-4 day limit), so they grew to puppyhood with long tails. This was quite an experience for me...I had never seen an EC with a long tail older than 2-3 days! When I placed the pups I gave the owners the option of having the tails docked at 4 months (the earliest a pup should be anethestized), or keeping their tails intact. Lesley and George took home Bosun and decided to keep his tail undocked. He lives in Maine where George and Lesley own a huge schooner - the Roseway - they take out charters during the summer months and retire to the Carribean in the winter. Bosun, as you see, is very much at home on the rail in the stern of the boat. Lesley was concerned Bosun may fall overboard as this particular area is slippery and narrow, so she got him a life jacket. But he has never fallen overboard and just loves to sit there and contemplate the ocean! In fact, they have a really hard time keeping him out of the water.....life on the ocean waves is pretty great!
Kendra Arcata Mischievious Lucas - My First Blue Roan 
I have always had "Solids" i.e. Reds, Blacks, and Black and Tans. But was totally smitten with this boy! He is a bundle of fun and as his name implies, very mischievious!

Lucas, what can I say! I never wanted a Blue Roan, but always loved the color. His breeder called me the day after he was born and told me "this is a Blue Roan Boy for you Catherine....this is the boy that I want to keep, but will let you have to start your Blue Roan line!" What could I say! She sent me photos every couple of weeks and I do admit I fell in love with this boy. He came to me at 12 weeks and I was totally in love! From the first moment we set eyes on each other we both knew it was love at first lick! This Boy has been a challenge, and will continue to be....because he is SPECIAL! He LOVES the ring and loves to be shown, so we will see after his wonderful beginning where it will lead us! He is shown here at his very first indoor show, the Boston Cluster no less, taking Reserve Winners Dog to a four point Major from the 6-9 month puppy class! Mrs Ann Rogers Clark judged and was very impressed with our little boy. Not only did she give some handling tips to me but she also told me to take good care of this boy "he is special". Naturally, I was thrilled, what a show....and at Boston! Look for this boy in the ring in 1999.
Charki's Girl! 
This is Flame aka Arcata Charcoal Fire. She is six months old and is the daughter of Charki (on previous page) and Cinna (her photo is coming soon). She inherited her father's deep copper/tan markings and his "happy go lucky" attitude! She is very sweet, but can be a stubborn little girl at times!
